NOVEMBER 1, 2007-
Are you tired, depressed and angry? Well, who isn’t at times? Tiredness comes with the hectic life style most of us lead. All the
modern conveniences we have are supposed to help us, but they just give us more
to worry about. The balancing act we try to conduct with our constant link to
the world (cell phones, internet, house phones, answering machines, ipods,
etc.) serves to litter our minds instead of clearing our minds.
Depression is the result of busy minds that don’t get a chance to be quite and still. To quote a friend, “I don’t have time to relax.” Well, neither do I. What a pitiful situation!
Then we become angry, and place the blame on our circumstances and other people.
That feels pretty good. “You can’t blame me; look at the crap I have to put up with. Look at the mess I have to
clean up! Look what you people has gotten me into! And people have the nerve to
tell me, don’t be scared.”
“Hey now, calm down,” I say to myself and to you. It’s up to us to deal with outside stimulations that drag us down. Yep, just
another job! Oh man, I’m kind of angry today.
There are things we can do to help in these matters. I know it and you know it.
The biggest problem is remembering and addressing the solutions.
Isn’t it nice when love and joyfulness is felt instinctively, when we don’t have to work for it. You have to admit that now and then that does happen. Isn’t it nice when we actively make that feeling happen? Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we felt joyful all the time? If anybody out there knows how
to accomplish that, do tell!
I’m just rambling as you can tell, but my message is... um... let’s see, oh yea, Thankfulness! Count your blessings, even the small ones. One night I was in my little back
yard and I had one of those moments of joyful awe, and this thought came to me,
The brilliance of all is caught in the beauty of one.
As I ponder my ethereal spirit and my choice to come here to experience material
life, I gaze at the moon and see its brilliance. A star, the moon, a child’s face, a flower, a bug, an atom, me and you, are representations of God source
energy. I am thankfully joyous.

Don’t Be Scared
There is so much to learn. There are so many sources to consider, and so many
ways to apply what I’ve learned. When and how am I going to stay in the flow? It seems, the more I
learn the more confusing life is to me. My moments of insight are wonderful,
while the moments last.
Meditation, relaxation, yoga, chakras, gem therapy, dream interpretation,
astrology, Reiki, Feng Shui, Toltec wisdom, spiritual laws, Eeeeek!
I love reading and learning about all things pertaining to spiritual growth.
Authors like Hittleman, Chopra, Cunningham, Castaneda, Dolfyn, Ruiz, just to
mention a few, have shared such wonderful knowledge. An example of one of my
spiritual pursuits is yoga. I’ve practiced it off and on for thirty years. My first sources were my sister and
Richard Hittleman. My sister had a little pocket hand book by Hittleman.
That aroused my interest when I was about ten years old. I did the exercises and
explored other sources as years passed. I took a couple of classes at the YMCA,
and continued to practice at home. I thought I knew a little something about
it. Recently I’ve called around about classes, and about courses to become certified to teach.
I’ve got to decide which “style” to practice, Ananda, Anusara, Ashtanga, Bikram, Integral, Lyengar, Kundalini,
Svaroopa, Viniyoga. Apparently Hatha isn’t good enough any more. Now I have to research all the different styles so I can
know what to expect: meditation, heart oriented, awakening energy, healing,
alignment, power, heat. I thought they all went together.
That’s just one example... I’ve got more. Are my chakras activated? Do I have the right stones and are they properly
cleansed? Did I write down my dreams before my head lifted off the pillow? What
does my horoscope say today? Do I have time and money for a Reiki session or a
massage? Is my home and office Feng Shuied properly? Am I following the Seven
Spiritual Laws and the Four Agreements? Is my sacred animal with me? What is my
sacred animal? Eeeek!
How about I keep it simple? The Golden Rule. I think I can remember that one,
until I’m backed up against the wall by a “lesser light”. The person backing me up against the wall isn’t playing by the same rules. I have to respond. Let’s see. Ghandi? Rambo? I created this day? Lesser lights don’t care if I want to surround myself with positive people. I know they can’t help it; they have been lesser lights for a long time. I still have to
respond! I know, See the spirit within, know they are on the same path as I. Oh
my. Now they are draining my energy. I’m tired, depressed, and angry. Where’s my flow!
Are you thinking, “I thought this was titled, Don’t be Scared. It sounds more like, Welcome to My Life.”
Lord have mercy on my searching soul !
